AN ORDINANCE ?ROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITU OF FU' S FOR
PURCllASE OF ANNUAL HARDWARE MAINTENANCE FOR SPECIFIC POLICE
AND FIRE RELATED MIS COMPUTER SYSTEMS WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM
ONLY ONE SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW
EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE
BIDDING, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PURCHASE ORDER # 87886
TO INTEGRATED COMPUTER SYSTEMS, INC (ICS) IN THE AMOUNT OF
$30,850 oo)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code promdes that
procurement of ~tems that are only avmlable from one source, including, ~tems that are
only available from one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural
monopohes, films, manuscripts or books, electnmty, gas, water and other utility
purchases, captive replacement parts or components for equipment, and hbrary materials
for a pubhc hbrary that are avmlable only from the persons holding exclusive d~stnbut~on
rights to the materials, need not be submitted to competmve b~ds, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Cotmcfl w~shes to procure one or more of the items
mentioned m the above paragraph, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ That the following purchase ofmatenals, eqmpment or supphes, as
descnbed in the "Purchase Orders" attached hereto, are hereby approved

~ That the acceptance and approval of the above ~tems shall not
constitute a contract between the C~ty and the person submitting the quotation for such

~ That the City Manager ~s hereby authonzed to execute any
contracts relating to the ~tems specffied m Section I and the expenditure of funds pursuant
to smd contracts ~s hereby authonzed
SECTION IV That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and approval
