AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
APPROVING THE GUIDELINES FOR THE RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM AND
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES IN EXCESS OF $15,000 FOR
PROJECTS MEETING PROGRAM GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA, AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton recognizes the need to assist low and
moderate income families in securing safe, samtary and decent housing, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton has developed a program to rehabilitate tenant occupied
housing umts by making needed repmrs through its Rental Rehabilitation Program, which is
administered by the City of Denton Community Development Office and funded through a federal
grant, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the City Council approves the Rental Rehabilitation Program Guidelines
and ehglbihty entena attached to and made a part of this ordinance for all purposes, and anthonzes
the City of Denton Commumty Development to admlmster this program
SI~CTION II That the C~ty Council authorizes the expenditure of funds in excess of
$15,000 by the Commumty Development Office for projects meeting program guidelines and
criteria, subject to comphance with competitive bidding laws, where applicable
SECTION III That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
OPTIONAL RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
REHOUSING AGREEMENT FOR APPLICANTS
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into on (Date document will be s~gned), by and between the
Caty of Denton, Texas, and (Name of applicant s~gn~ng document) hereinafter referred to as Apphcants
Tlus agreement covers the structure occupied at the follovang legal address
(Legal property description of dwelhng to be reconstructed)
WHEREAS, The Applicant has heretofore requested and quahfied for the Homeowner Rehablhtatlon
Program with assistance from the City in order to obt~un adequate, decent, safe, and samtaD' housing
under the City's Commumty Development Block Grant and HOME Program, and
WHEREAS, the City has deterrmned that rehab~htat~on of the Applicant's residence ~s not a feasible
alternative, and
WHEP,.EAS, the City has determined that the Community Development Program vail not prowde the
Apphcant relocation payments and assistance necessary to accomphsh the voluntary relocation of the
Applicant from the substandard, unrehabable dwelling currently occupied Into an adequate, safe, and
samtary replacement dwelling
NOW, TI-IEREFORE, the City and the Applicant for and m consideration of the covenants and
pronuses as herelnaiter set forth, do agree as follows

10 days notme by the City for the need to vacate
2 The Appheant agrees and hereby authorizes the demoht~on and removal of the currently °ccupled
dwelling and clearance by the City oftha property The Applicant further releases the City from any

dwelling is completed and the City deterrmnes it to be ready for occupancy The Applicant further
