1998-434AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING pARKING ON CHESNUT STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELCH STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH BERNARD STREET, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COIUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS _8~ When signs or markings are m place giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the following street in the City of Denton On Chesnut Street from its intersection with Welch Street to its intersection with Bernard Street ~ The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall apply at all t~mes to the designated portion of the above named street or streets except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or ~n compliance with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device ~ That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton m conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton, not m conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall remain m full force and effect ~ That If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or apphcat~ons, and to tbas end the provisions of this ordinance are severable ~ Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of th~s ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) ~ That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary Is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice m the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days oft~ate of its p~ssage PASSED AND APPROVED this the ~_ day of ~ ,1998 JAC~II~LLER, MAYO
