AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF
THE CLAIM OF JONATHAN T HODGES IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $30,000,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN PAYING
THE SETTLEMENT, SUBJECT TO THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS
APPROVED AS TO FORM BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the clamm for damages of Jonathan T Hodges was
submitted against the Cmty of Denton, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the City Counczl of the Czty of Denton, Texas
belzeves that zt is in the best znterest of the Cmty to compromzse
the claim zn an amount not exceedzng $30,000 to avoid the costs and
uncertainties of lmtmgatlon, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the proposed settlement of the claim of
Jonathan T Hodges zn an amount not to exceed $30,000 ms hereby
ratzfzed and approved, subject to the fmnal execution of a release
of all clazms by the claimant, Jonathan T Hodges, mn a form
approved by the City Attorney
SECTION II That the City Manager is hereby authorized to act
on the City's behalf zn payzng the settlement oblzgatzons
authorzzed herein
SECTION III That thms ordznance shall become effective
zmmedlately upon its passage and approval
