AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AMENDING SECTIONS 28-61
AND 28-62 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That Sectmon 28-61 of the Code of Ordinances, City
of Denton, Texas, ms hereby amended to read as follows
Sec. 28-61. Adoption of electrical code
The Natmonal Electrmc Code, 1996 Edltmon, as
published by the Natmonal Fmre Protection Assocmatlon, a
copy of which shall be fmled with the offmce of the city
secretary and avamlable for publmc lnspectmon, ms hereby
adopted and designated as the electrmcal code of the
city, the same as though that edmtlon of such code were
copmed at length heremn, subject to the deletmons and
amendments enumerated mn section 28-62
SECTION II That Sectmon 28-62 of the Code of Ordmnances,
Cmty of Denton, Texas, ms hereby amended to read as follows, all
provmslons of this dmvmslon not spec~fmcally changed here~n shall
remain intact and mn full force and effect
Sec. 28-62. Deletions and amendments.
The National Electrmcal Code adopted by sectmon
28-61 ms amended as follows

SECTIO~ III That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sen-
tence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any court
of competent ]urlsdlctlon, such holding shall not affect the valid-
ity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the C~ty Coun-
cil of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have
enacted such remaining portlons despite any such invalidity
SECTION IV That th~s ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval
