AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN 1NTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF LAKE DALLAS RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN
VARIOUS CITY OF DENTON CONTRACTS WHICH PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VARIOUS GOODS AND SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDA/NS
SECTION I That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Interlocal Agreement
with the City of Lake Dallas relating to part~clpation m various City of Denton contracts which
provide for the purchase of various goods and services, a copy of such agreement ~s attached hereto
and incorporated by reference
SECTION II That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval

THE STATE OF TEXAS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
COUNTY OF DENTON
COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT
Tlus agreement is made on the 13th day of February, 1997, between the City of Lake
Dallas, State of Texas, and the City of Denton, Texas
In consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein and pursuant to the authomy
permatted under Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, the
City of Lake Dallas and the City of Denton agree as follows

Purpose
The City of Lake Dallas wishes to enter into this Interlocal Agreement to authorize
participation in various City of Denton contracts for the purchase of various goods and services
The participation in tlus cooperative program will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers through the
anticipated savings to be realized
Duration of Agreement
Tbas agreement, wbach termanates as of its effective date, all prior agreements, written or
oral, between the parties concermng the same services/materials, shall become effective on
., and shall continue in full force and effect thereafter until terminated by either '
party on tturty (30) days written notice to the other
Relatlonshm of Parties
The parties intend that the entity, m receiving products and/or services specified in this
agreement, shall act as an independent purchaser and shall has control of its needs and the manner
in which they are acquired Neither the City of Lake Dallas, its agents, employees, volunteer help
nor any other person operating under th~s contract shall be considered an agent or employee of
the City of Denton and shall not be entitled to participate in any pension plans or other benefits
that the City of Denton provides its employees
