AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF LEWISVILLE RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN
VARIOUS CITY OF DENTON CONTRACTS WHICH PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VARIOUS GOODS AND SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECIIOBLL That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Interlocal
Agreement w~th the City of Levasvllle relating to partmlpat~on in various City of Denton contracts
winch provide for the purchase of various goods and services, a copy of such agreement is attached
hereto and incorporated by reference
SECIION_IL That tins ordtnance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval

This agreement is made on the 14fl~ day of April, 1997, between the City of Lewlsvlllc State o£ Texas
and the City of Denton, Texas
In consideration of the mnttml covenants contained herein and pursuant to the authont} permllted under
Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, the lnterlocal Cooperation Act C~t¥ of Lewmwlle and Clt5

Duration of~ement
This agreement, which terminates as of ~ts effective date, all prior agreements written or oral, between
the parties concerning the same servmes/matenals, shall become effecUve on April 14 1997 and shall
cootmue ~n full force and ef£ecttve thereafter until temnnated by e~ther party on thirty (30) days written
not~ce to the other

Relat~onship of Part~es
The parties intend that the entity, m receiving products and/or serwces specffied m this agreement shall
act as mz independent purchaser and shall have control of ItS needs and the mauner m which they are
acqmred Nmther the City of Lewlsvllle, its agents, employees volunteer help nor any olher person
operating under thts contract shall be constdered an agent or employee of the City of Denton and shall
not be entitled to participate m any pension plans or other benefits lhat the C~t~ of Denton provides its
employees
