We had three (3) vendors responding to Fiber Optic cable bid, they were F~S Technologies Inc. 14677 Midway Rd Ste 200, Dallas, Texas 75244. Responded w~th a b~d using Chromatic Technologies cable meeting all specifications. The FMS Technologies bid was lowest per unit cost on bid line items 1, 2, 3, and 4. F~bertron Inc. 451 Strata, Denton Texas 76201 Responded with a bid using Chromatic Technologies cable meeting all specifications The Flbertron bid was lowest per unit cost on bid l~ne items 5 and 6. P~efer~ed Sales, 616 Slx Flags Dr. Ste 130, Arlington, Texas 76011. Responded using Alcoa Fu]lkura cable The Alcoa cable has not been UL1581 certified per specification number nine, "Indoor rated cable specified will meet UL1581 certified for tray indoor installation." Their bid was re3ected on this basis. After evaluating the bids we recommend that FMS Technologies Inc be awarded bid line Items 1, 2, 3, and 4 as the lowest Bid meeting specifications. And we recommend that Flbertron Inc be awarded bid l~ne items 5 and 6. 6 "Dedicated to Quality Service" Respondents to only the patch¢ord portion of the bid were. We.~eo Dis~bution, PO Box 37079, Ft Worth Texas 76117 WeSco responded with a Siecor cable using Siecor connectors. Specification one of the bid specificatIon for patchcords states, "Patchcords will be terminated with Amphenol ceramic ST epoxy/crimp connectors." The Wesco bid was re]ected on this basis. We recommend the award of the patchcord port,on of the bid to FMS Technologies as the lowest respondent meeting all speciflcat~ons.
