AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF DENTON RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN
VARIOUS CITY OF DENTON CONTRACTS WHICH PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VARIOUS GOODS AND SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS

the County of Denton relating to participation in various C~ty of Denton contracts which provide for
the purchase of various goods and services, a copy of such agreement ~s attached hereto and

SUMMARY: The County of Denton wishes to enter into this Interlocal Agreement to authorize
partlmpatlon in various City of Denton contracts for the purchase of various goods and services The
Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, grants political subdivisions of the
State of Texas ~e crees, counties, school districts and special districts, the authority to enter into mterlocal
agreements Each entity shall act independently regarding actual purchases

between the County of Denton, State of Texas, and the C~ty of Denton, Texas
Inl consideration of the mutual covenants contmned herren and pursuant to
the authomty permitted under Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, the
Interlocal Cooperatmn Act, County of Denton and C~ty of Denton agree as follows

Duration of Agreement
Th~s agreement, as of ~ts effective date, terminates all prior agreements,

full force and effect thereafter until terminated by e~ther party on thirty (30) days

Relationship of Parties
The part~es intend that the entity, m rece~wng products and/or serwces
specified m th~s agreement, shall act as an independent purchaser and shall
have control of ~ts needs and the manner m which they are acqmred Nmther the
County of Denton, ~ts agents, employees, volunteer help nor any other person
operating under th~s contract shall be conmdered an agent or employee of the C~ty
of Denton and shall not be entitled to part~mpate ~n any penmon plans or other
benefits that the C~ty of Denton prowdes ~ts employees
