ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AMENDING PORTIONS OF
SECTION 18-53 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON TO
REMOVE PORTIONS OF U S HIGHWAY 380 FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH
INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH LOOP 288 FROM THE
TRUCK ROUTE, TO REMOVE FROM THE TRUCK ROUTE A PORTION OF PRAIRIE
STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH LOCUST STREET (F M 2164) TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH BELL AVENUE, PROVIDING FOR A REPEAL OF ANY
ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
PROVISION, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS, AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 18-57 OF THE CODE OF ORDI-
NANCES, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SCT~ That section 18-53 of Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances is amended to
delete the following language
Prairie Street from Locust Street (F M 2164) to Bell Avenue
U S 380 (Umvemty Drive) from the east city l~rmts line to the west city lnmts line
S I~ That section 18-53 of Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances is amended
to include the following new provmons
380 (Umvemty Drive) from the east city limits line to Loop 288
380 (Umversity Drive) from the west city lumts line to Interstate 35
All other provisions of said secUon shall remain unchanged
~ That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when the provisions of
this ordinance become effective which are inconsistent or m conflict with the terms or provismns
contained m tim ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
~ That any person violating any provision of th~s ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be freed a sum not exceedmg $200 00, as mom specifically provided in §18-57 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas Each day that a provision of th~s
ordinance is violated shall constitute a separate and dlmnct offense
~ That the provisions of flus ordinance are separable, and the invalidity of
any phrase or part of this ordinance shall not affect the validity or effecUveness of the remainder
of the ordinance
~ That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date
of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance
to be published twice in the Denton Record Chromcle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
