AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF
THE CLAIM OF JEANETTE M HARRISON IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $698 75,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN PAYING
THE SETTLEMENT, SUBJECT TO THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE OF CLAIM
APPROVED AS TO FORM BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WBEREAS, the claim for refund of Jeanette M Harmon was submitted against the City
of Denton, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council of the Cny of Denton, Texas believes that n is in the best
interest of the City to compromise and settle the refund claim in an amount not to exceed
$698 75 to avoid the costs and uncertainties of potential hUgat~on, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the proposed compromise and settlement of the refund claim of
Jeanette M Harrison in an amount not to exceed $698 75 is hereby ratified and approved, subject
to final execution ora release of claim by Jeanette M Harrison, ~n a form approved by the C~ty
Attorney
SECTION II That the City Manager ~s hereby authorized to act on the City's behalf ~n
paying the settlement obligations anthonzed herein
SECTION III That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and approval
