AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES OR SERVICES, PROVIDING
FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received and tabulated competitive bids for the purchase
of necessary materials, equipment, supplies or services in accordance with the procedures of STATE
law and City ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a designated employee has reviewed and recommended
that the harem dascnbed bids are the lowest responsible bids for the materials, equipment, supplies
or services as shown in the "Bid Proposals" submitted therefore, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has provided m the City Budget for the appropriation of funds
to be used for the purchase of the materials, eqmpment, supplies or services approved and accepted
herein, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the numbered items m the following numbered bids for materials,
equipment, supplies, or services, shown in the "Bid Proposals" attached hereto, are hereby accepted
and approved as being the lowest responsible bids for such items

SECTION II That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered items of the
submitted bids, the City accepts the offer of the persons submitting the bids for such items and

specifications, standards, quantities and for the specified sums contmned in the Bid Invitations, Bid
Proposals, and related documents
SECTION III That should the City and persons submitting approved and accepted items and
of the sublmtted bids w~sh to enter into a formal written agreement as a result of the acceptance,
approval, and awarding of the bids, the City Manager or his designated representative is hereby
authorized to execute the written contract which shall be attached hereto, provided that the written
contract is m accordance with the terms, conditions, specfficatlons, standards, quantltaes and
specified sums contmned in the Bid Proposal and related documents herein approved and accepted
SF.£TION IV That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered items of the
submitted b~ds, the City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds therefor in the amount

#2113 - REPLACEMENT OF 69KV BREAKERS)
~DMM]g~IDI~: We recommend this bid be awarded to the low bidder, GEC Alsthom, m the total
amount of $65,600 00
~. This bid is for the pumhase of two replacement 69KV, outdoor type, SF6 Circuit
Breakers
The two breakers to be replaced are at the North Lakes Substation They were mstalled tn1974 These
breakers are type ITE OCB (Oil Circuit Breaker), 69 KV (69,000 volt), 1,200 amp The breakers are old and
the mamteaance cost averages about $1,000 per year Parts for these breakers are hard to find The existing
OCB's are borderline tn their fault current clearing capabdity By going through with the replacement, it
increases the reliability and integrity of the 69KV loop
This change out is part of an ongoing CIP project which started in 1992 to run through 2002 to replace two
breakers per year We have installed 12 of the 21 breakers tn this project
Four bid proposals were received tn response to thirty two bid packages mailed to vendors

4.2 Current Transformers - The circuit breaker shah be equipped with two (2) two
bushing. The installed current transformers shall be as follows: 1200/S muir-ratio
units of relaying accuracy class C800.

tank manufacturer to impregnate tanks as a salvage operation for porous tanks.
6. Drawings Within 6 weeks of award of order, the manufacturer shall
