1997-353AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING
ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF LONDONDERRY LANE AND SAM BASS
BOULEVARD NEAR MCMATH MIDDLE SCHOOL, PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY
NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs or markings are in place giving notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the following street in the City of Denton
The south side of Londonderry Lane from its Intersection with Teasley Lane west
for two hundred and fifty feet
The north side of Londonderry Lane from its intersection with Teasley Lane west
for one hundred feet
The north side of Londonderry Lane from its intersection with Sam Bass
Boulevard east for fifty feet
The east side of Sam Bass Boulevard from its intersection with Londonderry Lane
north for fifty feet
Both sides of Sam Bass Boulevard from its intersection with IH35E Frontage
Road south for one hundred feet
SECTION II. The provlmons of Section I prohibiting the parl~ng of vehicles
shall apply at all t~mes to the designated portion of the above named street or streets
except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in
eomphanoe with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device
SECTION III That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions
of the ordinances of the City of Denton, not in conflict with the provisions of tl~s
ordmanee, shall remmn in full force and effect
SECTION IV. That if any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions
or applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable
SECTION V. Any person adjudged gmlty ofparktng a vehicle ~n molat~on of this
ordinance shall be gmlty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two
Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION VI. That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from
the date of ~ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby d~rected to cause the caption of
th~s ordinance to be pubhshed twice m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the officml
newspaper of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~thm ten (I0) days of the date of~ts passage
