ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, WHICH PROHIBITS THE
PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF OAK STREET, PROVIDING A
PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 00),
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs are erected glvlng notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle, at any time, upon the followmng
portmons of the following streets ~n the C~ty of Denton, to-wit
The south smde of Oak Street from the east curb l~ne of Jagoe
Street east for 225 feet
SECTION II That an mndlv~dual ad3udged gumlty of any of the
provlsmons of thms ordlnance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
punlshed by a flne not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
~ That if any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word zn thms ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstance ms held znvalmd by any court
of competent 3urlsdzctmon, such holdmng shall not affect the
valmdmty of the remalnzng portzons of thzs ordinance, and the Czty
Councml of the Czty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have
enacted such remamnmng portmons despmte any such lnvalldzty
~ That all ordmnances or parts of ordznances zn
force when the provzslons of this ordmnance become effective which
are znconszstent or mn conflmct wmth the terms or provlsmons
contained zn thms ordznance are hereby repealed to the extent of
any such conflict
~ That thms ordmnance shall become effectzve fourteen
(14) days from the date of its passage, and the Czty Secretary ~s
hereby dmrected to cause the caption of this ordznance to be
publmshed twice in the Denton Record-Chronzcle, the offzc~al
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, w~thln ten (10) days of the
date 6f zts passage
