AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT PAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
EMPLOYEES IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF CAPTAIN WHO ARE ALSO ASSIGNED TO
PERFORM THE DUTIES OF EMS PROGRAM MANAGER, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code
authorizes a munlclpalzty to pay assignment pay which is in an
amount and zs payable under conditions set by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Fzre Chzef having recommended
that the Fire Department employees ~n the classification of Captain
who are assmgned to perform the duties of EMS Program Manager
should recezve assignment pay of F~ve Hundred Thirty-four Dollars
($534 00) per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the Fire Department employees class~fzed as
Captain who are assigned to perform the duties of EMS Program
Manager shall receive assignment pay of F~ve Hundred Thzrty-four
Dollars ($534 00) per month ~n addition to the regular monthly
salary of Captain
SECTION II That this ordznance shall become effective
~mmedlately upon its passage and approval
