THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
Section I That attached hereto is a form of "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE
CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF DENTON", the form and substance of
which are hereby adopted and approved, and made a part of this Ordinance for all purposes
Section II That the City Secretary shall cause said NOTICE, m substantially the form
attached hereto, to be pubhshed once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general
circulat~on m the C~ty, w~th the date of the first pubhcatlon to be at least fii~een (15) days before the
date tentatively set for the passage of the Ordinance anthonzing the issuance of such Certificates of
Obhgation
Section III That this Ordinance shall become effective ~mmediately upon ~ts passage and
approval

TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION
OF THE CITY OF DENTON
THE CITY OF DENTON, m Denton County, Texas, hereby gives notice of ItS intention to
,ssue CITY OF DENTON CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, in accordance w~th the Certificate
of Obhgatlon Act of 1971, as amended and codIfied, and other apphcable laws, m the mayamum
pnncipal amount of $5,190,000 for the purpose of paying all or a portion of the City's contractual
obligations ,ncurred pursuant to contracts for the purchase, construction and acquisition of certmn
real and personal property, to w~t (a) renovations to the Municipal Building (City Hall) and (b)
certam real property for use m connection w,th the City's landfill operations located on Edwards
Road, and certmn facilities and equipment related to the C~ty's landfill operations, and also for the
purpose of paying all or a port,on of the C~ty's contractual obhgat,ons for professional sennces of
engineers, attorneys, and financial advisors m conneeUon w~th the above contracts and smd
Certificates of Obhgat~on The City proposes to provide for the payment of such Certificates of
Obligation from the levy and collection of ad valorem taxes m the C~ty as provided by law, and from
certain revenues derived by the C~ty from the ownership and operation of the City's Utility System
(consisting of the City's combined waterworks system, sanitary sewer system, and electric hght and
power system) The Clty Councfl of the Ctty tentat~vely proposes to authonze the ~ssuance of such
Certificates of Obhgatlon at a meeting commencing at 7 00 p m on the 7th day of May, 1996, ~n the
C~ty Council room at the Mun, c~pal Building (City Hall), 215 E Mcganney, Denton, Texas
