1996-080 ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, WHICH PROHIBITS THE
PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF GEORGETOWN STREET,
PROVIDING A PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($200 00), PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, AND
DECLARINGAN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When szgns are erected glvzng notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle, at any time, upon the following
portions of the followzng streets in the City of Denton, to-wzt
Both sides of Georgetown Street from its zntersectlon with
Amherst Drmve to mrs lntersectmon wmth University Drive
SECTION II That an indlvmdual adjudged guilty of any of the
provmsmons of thms ordinance shall be gumlty of a misdemeanor, and
punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
S CT~ III That mf any sectmon, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in thms ordmnance, or applmcatlon
thereof to any person or circumstance ms held invalid by any court
of competent ]urlsdlctmon, such holdmng shall not affect the
valmdzty of the remamn~ng portmons of thms ordinance, and the City
Council of the Cmty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares mt would have
enacted such remamnmng portions despmte any such lnvalmdmty
SECTION IV That all ordinances or parts of ordinances mn
force when the provmslons of th~s ordinance become effective which
are mnconsmstent or mn conflmct wmth the terms or provmsmons
contamned mn this ordmnance are hereby repealed to the extent of
any such conflict
~ That thms ordinance shall become effectmve fourteen
(14) days from the date of mrs passage, and the Cmty Secretary is
hereby dmrected to cause the captmon of this ordznance to be
publmshed twmce mn the Denton Record-Chronmcle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, wmthmn ten (10) days of the
date of mrs passage
