AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, WHICH PROHIBITS THE
PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF OAKLAND STREET,
PROVIDING A PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($200 00), PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS

person shall park a vehmcle, between the hours of 8 00 a m through
6 00 p m Monday through Frmday, upon the followmng portmons of the
followmng streets mn the Cmty of Denton, to-wmt
The west side of Oakland Street from mts mntersectlon wmth
Sawyer Street to mrs mntersectmon with Texas Street
SECTION II That an mndlvldual ad3udged guilty of any of the
provmslons of this ordmnance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
~ That if any sectmon, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word mn thms ordinance, or appllcatmon
thereof to any person or circumstance zs held mnvalld by any court
of competent jurlsd~ctmon, such holding shall not affect the
valmd~ty of the remaining portions of thms ordinance, and the City
Councml of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have
enacted such remaining portions despite any such mnvalldlty
SECTION IV That all ordmnances or parts of ordinances mn
force when the provisions of thms ordinance become effective which
are mnconslstent or in conflict w~th the terms or provisions
contained in this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
any such conflict
SECTION V That this ordmnance shall become effective fourteen
(14) days from the date of mts passage, and the City Secretary is
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the Cmty of Denton, Texas, wmthln ten (10) days of the
date of mrs passage
