ORDINANCE NO ~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF DENTON TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE ANIMAL
SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE FROM FIVE TO SEVEN, PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Cmty Councml deems mt mn the publmc mnterest to
expand the Ailmmal Shelter Advisory Commmttee from fmve to seven
members, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That subsectmon (a) of Section 6-5 "Anmmal Shelter
Advmsory Commlttee-Creatmon" of the Code of Ordmnances of the City
of Denton ms hereby amended to read as follows
Sec. 6-5. Animal Shelter Advisory Committee-Creation.
(a) There ms hereby establIshed and created the Anmmal
Shelter Advmsor¥ Committee to be composed of seven (7)
members who shall meet the following qualmflcatmons
(1) One (1) l~censed vetermnarman,
(2) One (1) Cmt¥ offmcmal,
(3) One (1) person whose dutmes mnclude the dally
operatmon of an anmmal shelter,
(4) One (1) representatmve of an animal welfare
organmzatlon, and
(5) Three (3) persons who are not mnvolved by
occupation or membershmp mn any of the above
categories
SECTION II That save and except as amended hereby, all the
sectmons, sentences, and clauses of Sectmon 6-5 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas shall remain mn full force
and effect
SECTION III That thms ordmnance shall become effective
lmmedmately upon mrs passage and approval
