AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE
FROM THE AGRICULTURAL (A) ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION AND USE
DESIGNATION TO THE OFFICE (O) ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION AND
USE DESIGNATION FOR 2 3549 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE
OF 1-35E, APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET WEST OF TEASLEY LANE, PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 00 FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Dewey & Associates, on behalf of W B and Betty Ann
Rummell, lnltlated a change in zoning for 2 3549 acres of land from
the Agricultural (A) zoning d~str~ct classification and use
designation to the Office (O) zoning district classification and
use designation, and
WHEREAS, on August 28, 1996, the Planning and Zoning Commis-
sion recommended approval of the requested change ~n zoning, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council f~nds that the change in zoning will
be in compliance with the Denton Development Plan, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the zoning d~strlct classification and use
designation of the 2 3549 acres of land described in Exhibit 1,
attached hereto and ~ncorporated by reference, ~s changed from the
Agrlcultural (A) zoning dlstrlct classification and use designation
to the Office (O) zoning district classification and use designa-
tion under the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the C~ty of
Denton, Texas
~ That the City's official zoning map ~s amended to
show the change ~n zoning d~str~ct classification
ECT~III That any person vlolatzn9 any provlszon of this
ordinance shall, upon convlctzon, be fined a sum not exceedln9
$2,000 00 Each day that a provlszon of this ordinance zs violated
shall constztute a separate and dzstznct offense
SECTION IV That this ordinance shall become effective four-
teen (14) days from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary
· s hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice zn the Denton Record-Chronicle, a da~ly newspaper
published in the Czty of Denton, Texas, wzth~n ten (10) days of the
date of ~ts passage
