AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS INCREASING THE EMPLOYEE
CONTRIBUTION OF EMPLOYEES PARTICIPATING IN THE CITY OF DENTON FIRE
FIGHTERS RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND TRUST FUND; AUTHORIZING THE PAYROLL
DEDUCTION OF SUCH CONTRIBUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees (Pension Board) of the city of
Denton Fire Fighters Retirement System and Trust Fund (Pension
Fund) has requested the contribution of employees participating in
such pension fund be increased from nine (9) percent to ten (10)
percent; and
WHEREAS, the Pension Board advises the City that it has com-
plied with all of the requirements set forth in Sec. 29 (a) and (d)
of Article 6243e V.A.T.S. for increasing the employee contribution
other than having such change in contribution approved by city
ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the requested change in contribution by employees
does not have any effect upon the City's contribution to the
Pension Fund previously approved by the City and funded in the
1994-95 budget; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON:
SECTION I. That the contribution to the city of Denton Fire
Fighters Retirement System and Trust Fund by employees partici-
pating in such pension fund be increased from nine (9) percent to
ten (10) percent.
SECTION II. That the City's payroll deduction applicable to
the employees participating in the pension fund be adjusted to
implement this employee contribution effective January 1, 1995.
SECTION III. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval.
