AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN POR- TIONS OF RAILROAD AVENUE AND EAST HICKORY STREET NEAR THE DENTON MUNICIPAL COMPLEX; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREEWITH; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I. That when signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle, at any time, upon the following portions of the following streets in the city of Denton, to-wit: Both sides of Railroad Avenue beginning one hundred thirty (130) feet north of the north curbline of East Hickory Street and extending north forty-two (42) feet. The north side of East Hickory Street beginning thirty- seven (37) feet east of the east curbline of Railroad Avenue and extending east fifty-six (56) feet. The north side of East Hickory Street beginning two hundred seventy-nine (279) feet east of the east curbline of Railroad Avenue and extending east sixty (60) feet. The south side of East Hickory Street beginning one hundred sixty-nine (169) feet east of the east curbline of Railroad Avenue and extending east fifty-five (55) feet. SECTION II. That an individual adjudged guilty of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). SECTION III. That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sen- tence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdication, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the city Council of the city of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted suoh remaining portions despite any such invalidity. SECTION IV. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when the provisions of this ordinance become effective which are inconsistent or in conflict with the terms or provisions con- tained in this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict. SECTION V. That this ordinance shall become effective four- teen ~14) days from the date of its passage, and the city Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official news- paper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage.
