ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO
THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION FOR A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT RECREATIONAL
LAKES AT SOUTH LAKES PARK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton recognizes that it is in the in-
terest of the City to develop lakes at South Lakes Park in an
effort to improve the storm water management in this area; and
WHEREAS, the construction of recreational lakes at South Lakes
Park will have a positive affect on the citizens of Denton by pro-
viding additional recreational and leisure opportunities; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE .;TTY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the council authorizes the City Manager to
submit an application to the Texas Water Commission for a Permit to
Appropriate Public Water at South Lakes Park and, if the applica-
tion is accepted for funding, the City Manager of the City of
Denton is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of
the City of Denton all necessary applications, contracts, and
agreements to implement and carry out the purposes specified in
this ordinance.
SECTION II. That this ordinance shall become effective imme-
diately upon its passage and approval. PASSED AND APPROVED this the/g day of 44- , 1993.
