SPECIAL CALLED OPEN MEETING: 2017 Tour of City Parks and related properties.
The Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board will convene for a Park Board Meeting
consisting of a Tour of City Parks, commencing at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney
Street, Denton, Texas, on Monday,May 1, 2017, at 5:00 p.m.
1. CALL TO ORDER
2. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE PARKS, RECREATION AND
BEAUTIFICATION BOARD MINUTES FOR:
A. None
3. AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS:
A. None
4. SPECIAL ACTION ITEM:
A. The Tour of Parks will begin and end at the Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney,
Denton, Texas, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and include a tour of the following
properties:
1. Industrial Street Park
2. Carl Young Sr. Park Splash Pad
3. Mack Park
4. Milam Park
5. Water Works Park
6. Northwest Denton Trail Loop
7. Vela Athletic Complex
8. Future North Lakes Dog Park
9. Future Tennis Center site
10. Rayzor Ranch
11. McKenna Park
5. ACTION ITEMS: Consider making a recommendation to the Denton City Council on
the following items:
A. None
6. DISCUSSION ITEMS: Consider the following items which may be moved to action
items at the next meeting:
A. None
7. OTHER BUSINESS:
A. None
8. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Under Section 551.042 of the Texas Open Meetings Act,
respond to inquiries from the Parks,Recreation and Beautification Board or the public with
specific factual information or recitation of policy, or accept a proposal to place the matter
on the agenda for an upcoming meeting.
AND
Under Section 551.0415 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, provide reports about items of
community interest regarding which no action will be taken, to include: expressions of
thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; an
honorary or salutary recognition of a public official, public employee, or other citizen; a
reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the governing body;
information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored by
an entity other than the governing body that was attended or is scheduled to be attended by
a member of the governing body or an official or employee of the municipality; or an
announcement involving an imminent threat to the public health or safety of people in the
municipality that has arisen after the posting of the agenda.
NOTE: THE PARKS, RECREATION AND BEAUTIFICATION BOARD RESERVES THE
RIGHT TO ADJOURN INTO A CLOSED MEETING AT ANY TIME REGARDING
ANY ITEM ON THE AGENDA FOR WHICH IT IS LEGALLY PERMISSIBLE.
NOTE: THE CITY OF DENTON CIVIC CENTER CONFERENCE ROOM IS ACCESSIBLE
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT. THE
