AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AMENDING PROVISIONS OF ORDINAMCE NO. 92-172 PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN THE SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE BY AMENDING THE ELECTRIC GENERAL SERVICE SMALL (GSS) RATE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a Schedule of Rates for Electric General Service Small (GSS) Rate and wishes to amend the Rate to reflect increased minimum demand for all electric services supplied at one point of delivery and measured through one meter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON BEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I That the City Council hereby amends City of Denton Ordinance No. 92-172 by amending the Electric General Service Small (GSS) Rate. ~. That the Electric General Service Small (GSS) Schedule is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION III. That this ordinance shall become effective January 1, 1993. Not applicable to resale service in any event, not to temporary, standby or supplementary service except in con]unction with applicable rider. NET MONTHLY RATE (1) Customer Facility Single Phase $15.00 per 30 days Three Phase $20.00 per 30 days (2) Demand Charge $ 7.00 per KW (first 20KWnot billed) (3) Energy Charge First 2500 KWH 6.56C/KWH All KWH over 2500 3.50C/KWH (4) Energy Cost Adjustment Current ECA Schedule MINIMUM BILLING An amount equal to the facility charge plus the greater of. 1) the demand charge calculated on the actual KW demand, or 2) seventy percent (70%) of the maximum monthly demand charge for any month during the preceding months of May through October. TYPE OF SERVICE Secondary service available to commercial and industrial customers. The City will supply single-phase service (or three-phase service if available at the point of delivery) at sixty (60) cycles and at any standard voltages available from the City's distribution system through one standard transportation. Where service of the type desired by the customer is not already available at the point of service, special contract arrangements between the City and the customer may be required prior to its being furnished. PRIMARY SERVICE DISCOUNT Customers who own, operate, and maintain all facilities necessary to receive three phase primary voltage service and all transformatlon facilities required for conversion to ut~lizatlon voltage shall receive a discount of 0.3C/KWH. Primary service customers utillzlng city owned and operated facility and transformation equipment necessary to receive primary voltage service shall receive a discount of 0.1 /KWH. The Clty shall own, operate and maintain all metering facilities, e~ther at prlmary or secondary voltage. PAYMENT B~lls are due when rendered, and become past due if not paid withln 15 calendar days from date of Issuance. DETERMINATION OF DEMAND The demand shall be determined by the KW supplied during the 15-minute per~od of maximum use durlng the current month as determined by C~ty's demand meter, but shall not be less than 70% of the hlghest monthly demand determined during the billing months of MAY through OCTOBER In the 12 months immediately preceding the current month. In no case, shall billed demand be less than O KW In cases where the connected load ls constant, the C~ty may, at its option, estimate the KW demand. For neon signs, one volt ampere shall be considered the equivalent of 3/4 watt POWER FACTOR The Clty reserves the right to make tests to determine the power factor of the customer's ~nstallat~on served elther by measurement durlng perlods of maximum demand or by measurement of the average power factor for the monthly billing perlod If the power factor is below ninety percent, the demand for billlng purposes w~ll be determined by multiplying the uncorrected KW billing demand by 90% and dividing by the determined power factor. SPECIAL FACILITIES Ail services which requlre special facilities in order to meet customer's service requirements shall be provided subject to the special fac~lltles r~der. Formula: Actual days in readina period x customer facility charge 30 days (b) Billing for demand shall be calculated on a 30 day per month basis and prorated for longer or shorter b~lling periods.
