1992-069ALL001AD\1705 5 3 ORD 'N CE NO AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF ELECTRIC RATES BY ADOPTING ANAMENDED SCHEDULE TGS (GENERAL SERVICE TIME OF USE RATE), AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the Schedule of Rates for electrical services, as adopted by Ordinance No 90-168, is amended by amending the provisions of Schedule TGS (General Service Time of Use Rate), a copy of which is attached hereto in Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference herein SECTION II That this ordinance shall become EXHIBIT "A" SCHEDULE TGS GEN~P~AL SERVICE TIME OF USE (TGS) [Effective ] APPLICATION Applicable to any commercial and industrial user for all electrzc service suppl~ed at one point of delivery and measured through one meter who has peak electrlcal loads during off peak hours Customers electing to utilize the TGS rate may change to this rate only during the month of June and must remain on th~s rate for a m~nimum of twelve (12) continuous billzng months Not applicable to resale service in any event, nor to temporary, standby or supplementary service except In conjunctIon w~th applicable r~der (1) Customer Facility Charge $25 00/30 days Single Phase $30 00/30 days Three Phase (2) On-Peak Demand Charge $12 50/KW of On-Peak Demand (3) System Demand Charge $ 4 00/KW of System Demand (4) Energy Charge $ 01/KWH (5) Energy Cost Adjustment Per Schedule ECA The minimum monthly bill shall be the sum of the Customer Facility Charge, the On-Peak Demand Charge, and the System Demand Charge, but not less than 70% of the maximum monthly total demand charge~ for any month during the preceding months of May through October Secondary service available to con~nercial and industrial customers The City will supply single-phase service (or three-phase service if available at the/point of delivery) at sixty (60) cycles and atlany standard voltages available from the City's distribution system through one standard transformation Where service of the type desired by the customer is not already available at the point of service, special contract arrangements between the City and the customer may be required prior to Its bezng furnished DETERMINATION OF ON-PEAK DEMAND The On-Peak Demand shall be the maximum KW demand supplled durlng the fifteen (15) mlnute period of maximum use during the on peak hours as recorded by the City's demand meter and adjusted for uower factor The minimum monthly bill for On Peak Demand shall be one hundred percent (100%) of the maximum on-peak demand, similarly determIned during the previous billing months of June through September in the twelve (12) months ending with the current month The on-Peak Demand will be billed every month DETERMINATION OF SYSTEM DEMAND The System Demand shall be the maximum KW demand supplied during the fifteen (15) minute period of maxlmumuse as recorded by the City's demand meter and adjusted for power factor, but not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the maximum system demand s!mllarly deterr~lned during the previous billing months of June through September in the twelve (12) months ending with the current month POWER FACTOR PENALTY The City reserves the right to determine the power factor of the customer's installation served during the period of maximum demand or by measurement of the average power factor for the monthly billing period If the power factor is below ninety percent (90%), on-peak and average demand for the demand for hilling purposes will be determined by multiplying the unadjusted hilling demand by ninety percent (90%) and dividing by the determined power factor DEFINITION OF ON-PEAK HOUWS The City's on-peak hours, for the purpose of this rate schedule, are designated as being from I 00 P M to 8 00 P M each Monday through Friday, starting on June 1 and continuing through September 30 each year The City,s on-peak hours may be changed from time to ti~e and the customer will be notified twelve (12) months prior to such changes becomzng effective DEFINITION OF OFF-PEAK HOU~ The City's off-peak hours, for the purpose of this rate schedule, shall be all hours not designated as on-peak hours SUPPLEMENTAL DOWER RI~ Customers requesting standby or supplementary power shall be allowed service under this rate schedule, however, the determination of system demand shall be adjusted to read The system memand shall ne t~e sum of the maxlmum KW ce~ra supplied durlng the flfteen (15) minute period of maxlmum use as recorded by the Clty's demand meter plus rating cf generator(s) unavallable for servlce shall be removed from the determination of the system demand In no event shall the system demand be less than seventy percent (70%) of the maximum system demand s~m~larly determlned during the previous billing months of June through September ~n the twelve (12) months ending with =he current month SPECIAL FACILITI~ Ail service which requires special facilities in order to meet the c~stomer's service requirements shall be provided subject special facilities rider PROP~ATION OF UTILITY BILLS (a) Billing for the Facility Charge shall be based on 12 billings annually using the followzng formula Actual day ~n readin= period × Customer Charge 30 (b) Billing for demand shall be calculated on a 30-day-per- month baszs and pro-rated for longer or shorter billing periods using the following formula Actual days in rea~n~ uer~d x KW Demand × Rate 30 ENERGY COST ADJUSTM~NT A charge per KWH of energy taken for fuel cost calculated ~n accordance with Schedule E C A Bills are due when rendered, and become past due ~f not pa~d w~thin fiftee~ (15) calendar days from date of issuance TGSP.
