ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE
CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF DENTON TEXAS

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that Notice
of Intention to Issue Certificates of Obligation be given as
hereinafter provided
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
Section 1 That attached hereto is a form of "NOTICE OF
INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS", the form and substance of which are hereby
adopted and approved
Section 2 That the City Secretary shall cause said
NOTICE, in substantially the form attached hereto, to be
published once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper
of general circulation in the City, with the date of the first
publication to be at least fifteen (15) days before the date
tentatively set for the passage of the Ordinance authorizing
the issuance of such Certificates of Obligation

TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION
OF THE CITY OF DENTON TEXAS
THE CITY OF DENTON, in Denton County, Texas, hereby gives
notice of its intention to issue CITY OF DENTON CERTIFICATES OF
OBLIGATION, in accordance with the Certificate of Obligation
Act of 1971, as amended and codified, and other applicable
laws, in the maximum principal amount of $1,155,000 for the
purpose of paying all or a portion of the City's contractual
obligations to be incurred (1) pursuant to contracts for the
construction of improvements to the Municipal Building (City
Hall) and the purchase of materials, equipment, contracts for the
in connection therewith, and (2) pursuant construction of improvements to the City's Civic Center and the
purchase of materials, equipment, and machinery in connection
therewith, and (3) pursuant to contracts for the purchase of
the following equipment and machinery a track loader, a motor
grader, solid waste disposal equipment, police vehicles,
ambulances, a refuse truck, and a tree spade, and also for the
purpose of paying all or a portion of the City's contractual
obligations for professional services of engineering, attor-
neys, and financial advisors in connection with such improve-
ments, purchases, and Certificates of obligation The City
proposes to provide for the payment of such Certificates of
obligation from the levy and collection of ad valorem taxes in
the City as provided by law, and from certain revenues derived
by the City from the ownership and operation of the City's
Utility System (consisting of the city's combined waterworks
system, sanitary sewer system, and electric light and power
system) The City Council of the City tentatively proposes to
authorize the issuance of such Certificates of Obli tion at a
meeting commencing at 7 00 p m C S T on the day of
January, 1989, in the City Council room at the Municipal
Building (City Hall), Denton, Texas

REGULAR MEETING ON THE 20TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1987,
at the Municipal Building (City Hall), and the roll was called
of the duly constituted officers and members of said City

ordinance be passed, and, after due discussion, said motion,
carrying with it the passage of said Ordinance, prevailed and

2 That a true, full, and correct copy of the aforesaid
ordinance passed at the Meeting described in the above and
foregoing paragraph is attached to and follows this Certifi-
cate, that said ordinance has been duly recorded in said City
Council's minutes of said Meeting, that the above and foregoing
paragraph is a true, full, and correct excerpt from said City
Council's minutes of said Meeting pertaining the passage of
said Ordinance, that the persons named in the above and forego-
ing paragraph are the duly chosen, qualified, and acting
officers and members of said City Council as indicated therein,
and that each of the officers and members of said City Council
was duly and sufficiently notified officially and personally,
in advance, of the time, place, and purpose of the aforesaid
Meeting, and that said Ordinance would be introduced and
considered for passage at said Meeting, and that said Meeting
was open to the public, and public notice of the time, place,
and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by
Vernon's Ann Tex Civ St Article 6252-17
3 That the Mayor of said City has approved, and hereby
approves, the aforesaid Ordinance, that the Mayor and the City
Secretary of said City have duly signed said Ordinance, and
that the Mayor and the City Secretary of said City hereby
declare that their signing of this Certificate shall constitute
the signing of the attached and following copy of said Ordi-
nance for all purposes
