AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND ESTABLISHING THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE
BIRTHDATE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR AS AN OFFICIAL CITY HOLIDAY,
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That January 15th is the birthday of the late
Martin Luther King, Jr
SECTION II That the third Monday of each January, the date
of the official federal holiday for the recognition of the
anniversary of the birthdate of Martin Luther King, Jr , is hereby
designated as an official City holiday and the Municipal Budding
shall be closed to the public on such day
SECTION IIT The City Manager shall comply with the admini-
strative Procedures set forth in Policy No 107 02 regarding the
administration of this holiday with respect to City employees
SECTION IV That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately from its date of passage
