AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE WEST
SIDE OF RINEY ROAD FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH WINDSOR DRIVE TO A
POINT 827 0 FEET NORTH OF WINDSOR DRIVE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS,
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no
person a =park a vehicle at anytime upon the following street
or portion thereof, in the City of Denton, to-wit
The west side of Riney Road from its intersection with
Windsor Drive to a point 827 0 feet north of Windsor
Drive
SECTION II The provisions of Section I prohibiting the
parking of ve rcles shall apply to that portion or part of Riney
Road designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance
with the direction of a police officer or official traffic
control device
SECTION III Any person adjudged guilty of parking a
vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred
Dollars ($500 00)
SECTION IV That if any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence case, phrase or word in this ordinance, or
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas,
hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions
despite any such invalidity
SECTION V That this ordinance shall become effective
fourteen 14 days from the date of its passage, and the City
Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle,
the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
