1988-0501992L NO 79 '-050 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON ESTABLISHING RATES FOR THE USE OF THE CITY'S SANITARY LANDFILL SITE AS AUTHORIZED BY CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the charges for the use of the City's land- fill s to as authorized by section 12-5 of article 1 of chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances are hereby established as follows A Individual Users Type of Vehicle Charge Per Vehicle Per Load 1 Pickup trucks with side boards and all other $ 27 20 vehicles with a carrying capacity in excess of 5 cubic yards but less than 10 cubic yards 2 Vehicles with carrying capacity in excess of $ 40 80 10 cubic yards but less than 15 cubic yards 3 Vehicles with carrying capacity in excess of $ 54 40 15 cubic yards but less than 20 cubic yards 4 Vehicles with carrying capacity in excess of $ 81 60 20 cubic yards but less than 30 cubic yards 5 Vehicles with carrying capacity in excess of $108 80 30 cubic yards but less than 40 cubic yards 6 Vehicles with carrying capacity of 40 cubic $136 00 yards or more 7 For the disposal of each vehicle tire, in $ 2 00 addition to the above charges B Regular Commercial Users The City Manager may approve contracts with private commercial collection service companies for regular use of the sanitary land- fill site at the following rates Residential & commercial garbage $2 72 cubic yard or 10 88/ton Rubbish (trash) $2 72 cubic yard or 10 88/ton Uncompacted residential & 2 72 cubic yard or 110 88/ton commercial garbage All such contracts may contain such conditions of operation, dis- posal and delivery as necessary for the efficient operation of the landfill site and the method of billing and collecting for such use SECTION II Landfill permits issued by the City prior to the effect ve date of this ordinance may be redeemed for their face value The customer must pay the difference between the current rate and the face value of the permit The customer is not entitled to a refund if the face value of the permit exceeds the current rate SECTION III That this ordinance shall become effective imme iately upon its passage and approval PASSED AND APPROVED this the /Jli day of 1988 RAY S EPHENS, MAYOR ATTEST JJE&IFM#A :RS, CITY SECRETARY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM DEBRA ADAMI DRAYOVITCH, CITY ATTORNEY BY ~tvYL-iL
