AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE WEST SIDE
OF A PORTION OF GLENWOOD LANE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle at anytime upon the following street
or portion thereof, in the City of Denton, to-wit
The west side of Glenwood Lane from its intersection
with south Mlstywood Lane to its intersection with
north Mlstywood Lane for a distance of 39S 0 feet
SECTION II The provisions of Section I prohibiting the
parking of vehicles shall apply the times specified to that
portxon or part of Glenwood Lane designated therexn except when
xt is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in complxance with the direction of a police officer
or offxclal traffic control device
SECTION III Any person ad}udged guilty of parking a
vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV That If any sectxon, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
xnvalld by any court of competent }urlsdlctlon, such holding
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portxons of this
ordxnance, and the City Councxl of the Cxty of Denton, Texas,
hereby declares ~t would have enacted such remaining portions
despite any such xnvalldxty
SECTION V That this ordxnance shall become effectxve
fourteen (14) days from the date of xts passage, and the Cxty
Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of thxs
ordinance to be publxshed twice xn the Denton Record-Chronicle,
the official newspaper of the Cxty of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
