AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES FOR EAST
AND WEST BOUND TRAFFIC ON HOBSON LANE FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH
FORESTRIDGE TO F M 1830 (COUNTRY CLUB ROAD), PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 00),
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I Based upon an engineering and traffic investiga-
tion heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section
169, Article 6701d, V T C S , the following prima facle speed
l~mlts for east and west bound traffxc on Hobson Lane is hereby
determined and declared to be prima facle reasonable and safe,
and such speed limits are hereby f~xed for vehicles traveling
upon the followxng named highway, or parts thereof

A Hobson Lane Beginning at a point 400 feet west 40 MPH
of Forestr~dge Road and contxnu~ng
to its xntersect~on w~th F M 1830
(Country Club Road) for a a total
d~stance of 3,562 feet
SECTION II Based upon an engineering and traffic ~nvestlga-
tlon heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section
169, Article 6701d, V T C S , the prima fac~e speed l~mlt of 40
miles per hour for east and west bound traffic on Hobson Lane
beginning at xts xntersection with Forestrldge Road and continuing
to ~ts intersection with F M 1830 (Country Club Road), ~s hereby
determined to be prima facle reasonable and safe, and such speed
l~m~t xs hereby fixed for vehicles travelling upon such road
SECTION III That if any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstance ~s held ~nvalxd by any court
of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portxons of this ordinance, and the City
Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would
have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION IV That this ordinance shall become effective
fourteen [14) days from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty
Secretary ~s hereby d~rected to cause the caption of th~s
ordinance to be publxshed twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle,
the o££1clal newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of Its passage
