AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, SETTING FIRE SAFETY
INSPECTION FEES AND PERMIT FEES AS PROVIDED FOR BY SECTION 10-4
OF CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the fire safety inspection fees and permit
fees provided for in Section 10-4 of Article I of Chapter 10 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, are hereby
set in the following amounts
1 Building Fire Safety Follow-Up Inspection fees provided
for in Section 10-4 (a)
Interior Square Footage Fee
1 to 3,000 $ 15 O0
over 3,000 to 6,000 $ 25 O0
over 6,000 to 12,000 $ 35 O0
over 12,000 to 18,000 $ 45 00
over 18,000 to 24,000 $ 60 00
over 24,000 to 100,000 $100 00
over 100,000 $200 00
If a second follow-up inspection fee is required because
the vzolatlon has not been corrected, the following fees
shall be charged
1 to 3,000 $ 30 O0
over 3,000 to 6,000 $ 50 O0
over 6,000 to 12,000 $ 70 O0
over 12,000 to 18,000 $ 90 O0
over 18,000 to 24,000 $120 O0
over 24,000 to 100,000 $200 O0
over 100,000 $400 O0
2 Permit fees provided for ~n Section 10-4 (b) shall be as
follows
{a) The fee for any permit required under Article 4 of the
Uniform Fire Code, as amended, shall be $50 00 per
permit, and $25 00 per annual renewal, except as
follows
1 There shall be paid a fee of $100 00 for the follow-
lng permits
--any alteration to an existing tank (combustible or flammable)
--outdoor burning (per day) --combustible or flammable liquid tank storage
installation
--combustible or flammable liquid piping installation --removal of combustible or flammable liquid tank
3 There shall be paid a fee of $S0 00 for the following
(a) permit to install an automatic extinguishing (hood)
system,
(b) acceptance inspection of automatic f~re sprinkler
(overhead) system,
(c) acceptance Inspection of automatic f~re sprinkler
(fire line),
(d) ~nspect~on of private fire lines and hydrants,
There shall be paid a fee of $25 00 for each annual
inspection of automatic extinguishing systems (hood
system) This fee shall be payable by the owner or
occupant
S The permit fee for a temporary sales or display booth ~n
the Golden Triangle Mall shall be $25 00
6 There shall be paid a fee of $35 00 for each annual permit
as provided for in Section 10-4(c)
SECTION II That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval
