AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON BOTH SIDES OF
GAYLA DRIVE FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH MAYHILL ROAD TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH BRIDGES STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS,
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs are erected g~vlng notxce thereof, no
person shall park a vehxcle at any txme upon the followxng street
zn the City of Denton to-wit
Both sides of Gayla Dr~ve from its lntersectxon w~th
Mayhlll Road to xts xntersect~on wxth Bridges Street
SECTION II The provxslons of Sectzon I prohzbxt~ng the
parking of vehicles shall apply at all txmes to the street and
part of streets desxgnated there~n except when xt xs necessary
to stop a vehzcle to avoid conflxct w~th other traffic or ~n
compliance w~th the direction of a police offxcer or offlczal
traffxc control device
SECTION III Any person adjudged guilty of parking a
vehicle in vlolatzon of thxs ordznance shall be guilty of a
m~sdemeanor and punished by a fxne not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV That zf any sectxon, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or
appl~catxon thereof to any person or c~rcumstance is held
xnvalld by any court of competent jurxsdlctxon, such holdzng
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of thzs
ordinance, and the Cxty Council of the Cxty of Denton, Texas,
hereby declares xt would have enacted such remaxnzng portzons
despite any such xnval~dxty
SECTION V That thxs ordinance shall become ef£ect~ve
fourteen [14J days from the date of zts passage, and the City
Secretary xs hereby dxrected to cause the captxon of th~s
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronxcle,
the off~czal newspaper of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~th~n ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
