AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF GARY STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH ELM STREET TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH LOCUST STREET WHEN SIGNS ARE POSTED, ON THE
SOUTH SIDE OF THIRD STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH ELM STREET
TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH LOCUST STREET WHEN SIGNS ARE POSTED,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I When signs are erected glvang notace thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle at any tame upon the followang
streets in the City of Denton between the hours of 8 00 a m to
$ 00 p m to-wit
The north sade of Gary Street from ars lntersectaon
wath Elm Street to ats antersectlon wath Locust
Street, on the south sade of Thard Street from ars
antersectlon with Elm Street to its antersectaon with
Locust Street
SECTION II The provasaons of Sectaon I prohabatang the
parking of vehicles shall apply at all tames to the street and
part of streets desagnated therean except when it as necessary
to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict wath other tra£fac or an
complaance wath the dlrectaon of a polace offacer or offacaal
traffic control device
SECTION III Any person adjudged gualty of parking a
vehicle in violation of thas ordinance shall be guilty of a
masdemeanor and punashed by a fane not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV That if any sectaon, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word an this ordanance, or
applacataon thereof to any person or carcumstance xs held
invalid by any court of competent 3urlsdactaon, such holding
shall not affect the valadlty of the remalnang portaons of this
ordanance, and the Caty Councal of the City of Denton, Texas,
hereby declares it would have enacted such remaan~ng portaons
despate any such anvaladxty
SECTION V That thas ordanance shall become effective
fourteen [14) days from the date of its passage, and the City
Secretary is hereby darected to cause the caption of this
ordanance to be published twace an the Denton Record-Chronicle,
the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
