AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER TO A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND R L ROBERTS CONSTRUCTION
CO , AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, on December 16, 1986, the City awarded a contract
for the construction of certain improvements to the West Hickory
Street and Welch Street Project, Bid No 9688, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager having recommended to the Council
that a change order be authorized to amend such contract and said
change order being in compliance with the requirements of art
2368a, V A C S , NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON
SECTION I That the change order to the contract between the
City and R L Roberts Construction Co in the amount of Twenty-
one Thousand Slx Hundred Forty-one Dollars and Thirty-seven Cents
($21,641 37) is hereby approved and the expenditure o~ funds
therefor is hereby authorized
SECTION II That this ordinance shall become effective

Hickory and Welch Streets as per the attached The total change order after reductions
and additions of $21,6/~1 37 This represents II 4% of the total contract of 8189,112 90
The City oi~ Denton has accepted the pro)ect for completion Therefore we are also
asking approval of the Final Payment of $13,611 17
SUMMARY The City of Denton awarded this bid in December Construction was
to '~ completed on Welch Street first After acceptance, the work was started on West
Hickory Street We had some delays on West Hickory for telephone, electrical, and
water utllit~es construction We also had some delays with the Contractor However,
all phases have been completed and accepted
