AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER TO A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND CALVERT PAVING CO , AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, on August 4, 1987, the City awarded a contract for
the construction of certain improvements to the Pecan Creek
Draznage Channel Project, Bid No 9764, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager hav~ng recommended to the Council
that a change order be authorzzed to amend such contract and said
change order being in compliance w~th the requirements of art
2368a, V A C S , NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON
SECTION I That the change order to the contract between the
C~ty and Calvert Paving Co for a reductzon in the amount of
Twenty-two Thousand One Hundred Flfty-flve Dollars ($22,155 00)
zs hereby approved
SECTION II That th~s ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon zts passage and approval

RECOI~IENDATION We recommend a Change Order be approved reducing the amount
of r,p rap from 5,050 square yards to 3,995 square yards for the reduction of 1,055
square yards at $21 O0 per square yard for the total dollar amount of $22,155 O0
This will reduce the amount of the contract from $123,675 O0 to $101,520 O0
SUI~IARY This project estimate and allocation was not as much as the
bid therefore we are not able to fund the total bid amount We have therefore
deducted only on the concrete rip-rap This is with the knowledge and recommendation
from 3erry Clark, City Engineer This bid was on the consent agenda approved
earlier
