AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE NORTH AND
SOUTH SIDES OF A PORTION OF ROBERTS STREET, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
When signs are erected gxvlng notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle at anytime upon the following street or portion
thereof, in the City qf Denton to-wit
The south side o~ Roberts Street, at Its intersection
with Bell Avenue for a distance of 75 feet from its
intersection with Bell Avenue and on the north side of
Roberts Street, at its intersection with Bell Avenue
for a distance of 100 feet from said intersection
SECTION I1
The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of
vehicles shall apply the times specified to that portion or part
of Roberts Street designated therein except when it is necessary
to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in
compliance with the direction of a police officer or official
traffic control device
SEC%ION III
Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of
the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted
such remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION V
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days
from the date of its passage, and the C:ty Secretary :s hereby
dxrected to cause the captxon of th~s ordinance to be published
twice ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of
the Cxty of Denton, Texas, wxth:n ten (10) days of the date of
:ts passage
