AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23-2 (a) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS TO PROVIDE FOR A SEVEN (7a) PERCENT
TAX OF THE CONSIDERATION PAID BY OCCUPANTS OF A HOTEL ROOM IN
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
JUNE 1, 1986.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
Section 23-2 (a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Denton is hereby amended so that the same shall hereafter read
as follows:
(a) There is hereby levied a tax upon the cost of
occupancy of any room or space furnished by any
hotel where such cost of occupancy is at the rate
of Two Dollars ($2.00) or more per day, such tax to
be equal to seven (70) percent of the consideration
paid by the occupant of such room to such hotel.
SECTION II.
This ordinance shall become effective from and after the 1st
day of June, 1986.
