1985-236NO AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF CHESTNUT STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELCH STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH BERNARD STREET AND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MULBERRY STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELCH STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH BERNARD STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the following streets in the City of Denton to-wit The south side of Chestnut Street from its inter- section with Welch Street to its intersection with Bernard Street, and the north side of Mulberry Street from its inter- section with Welch Street to its intersection with Bernard Street SECTION II The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall apply at all times to the streets and part of streets designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device SECTION III Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION IV That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the PAGE ONE City Council of the City of Denton, would have enacted such remaining invalidity SECTION V Texas, hereby declares it portions despite any such That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage PASSED AND APPROVED this the /f4day of 11 , 1985 r C D E MAYOR Y OF DE ON, TEXAS ATTEST CHARLOTTE ALLEN, TY SIM CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM DEBRA ADAMI DRAYOVITCH, CITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS BY 1255L PAGE TWO
