AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A-DENTON DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS TO PROVIDE FOR THE
IMPOSITION OF FEES FOR SUBMITTING PETITIONS FOR VOLUNTARY ANNEX-
ATIONS, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That Article 3 03 (2) of Chapter III of Article III of Appendix
A. the Denton Development Code, of the Code of Ordinances is amended
by adding a new subsection (f) to read as follows
Article 3 03 Annexation Policy
(f) Any person, firm or corporation who shall petition
the city for annexation shall pay to the Department
of Planning and Community Development a fee in an
amount determined, and as from time to time amended,
by ordinance of the city council The fee shall be
based upon the administrative expenses of the city in
reviewing such petitions A copy of the ordinance
establishing the fees shall be maintained in the
Department of Planning and Community Development
SECTION II
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the
City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such
remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION III
That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and approval
