1984-094NO AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE EAST SIDE OF AVENUE C FROM HIGHLAND TO MULBERRY, THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF MULBERRY FROM AVENUE C to AVENUE B, BOTH SIDES OF AVENUE B FROM MULBERRY TO HICKORY, 2HE SOUTH SIDE OF HICKORY FROM AVENUE B TO AVENUE A, THE WEST SIDE OF AVENUE A FROM HICKORY TO MULBERRY, THE NORTH SIDE OF MULBERRY FROM AVENUE A TO WELCH, THE SOUTH SIDE OF PRAIRIE FROM WELCH TO AVENUE A, THE NORTH SIDE OF CHESTNUT FROM WELCH TO AVENUE A, AND THE NORTH SIDE OF HIGHLAND FROM WELCH TO AVENUE C, PROVIDING A SEVER- ABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon the following street in the City of Denton to-wit 1 The east side of Avenue C from Highland to Mulberry, 2 The north and south sides of Mulberry from Avenue C to Avenue B, 3 Both sides of Avenue B from Mulberry to Hickory, 4 The south side of Hickory from Avenue B to Avenue A, 5 The north side of Mulberry from Avenue A to Welch, 6 The south side of Prairie from Welch to Avenue A, 7 The north side of Chestnut from Welch to Avenue A, and 8 The north side of Highland from Welch to Avenue C SECTION II The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall apply at all times to the street and part of streets designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device SECTION III Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION IV That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity SECTION V That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the city Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage J PASSED AND APPROVED this the ~ day of CI ATTEST (5H_A_9LOTTE ALLEN, CITY SECRETARY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM C J TAYLOR, JR , CITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS BY F~► I~~^ IYHRl, L, , TEXAS OF 1984 IN THE MATTER OF City of Denton THE STATE OF TEXAS County of Denton Roy Appleton, Jr. being duly sworn, says he is the General Manager of the Denton Record-Chronicle, a newspaper of general circulation which has been continuously and regularly published for a period of not less than one year in the County of Denton, Texas, preceding the date of the attached notice, and that the said notice was published in said paper on the following dates: No. 84-94 An Ordinance Prohibiting the Parking 41 Lines 812.90 A„a„ct 9 1 iaRA Witness my hand and official seal.
