1983-145AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-24 OF CHAPTER 25, OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS BY DELETING THE PRO-
VISION FOR DETERMINATION BY THE PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF COST
TO BE CHARGED FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTING, ESTABLISHING
COSTS TO BE CHARGED FOR STREET LIGHTING SERVICES, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That Section 25-24(b) of Chapter 12 "Street Lighting Ser-
vices'' 1s hereby amended to read as follows
"(b) The owner shall provlde satisfactory easements for
the construction and maintenance of the facilities
to be lnstalled and pay for each street light to
be lnstalled The City of Denton w~ll invoice the
owner ana the owner shall pay the invoiced amount
prior to the construction of the facllltles The
cost to be paid by the owner for street lighting
services shall be as follows

SECTION II
Taat Section 25-24(d) of Chapter 25 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Denton ~s hereby repealed
SECTION III
That ~f any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word ~n this ordinance, or application thereof
to any person or circumstance ~s held ~nval~d by any court of
competent 3urlsdlctlon, such holding shall not affect the
valldlty of the remalnlng portions of this ordinance, and the
City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
lnvalld~ty
SECTION IV
This ordinance shall become effective ~mmedlately after ~ts
passage and approval
