AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23-2[a) OF FHE CODE OF ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS TO PROVIDE FOR A SIX (6) PERCENT
TAX OF THE CONSIDERATION PAID BY OCCUPANTS OF A NOFEL ROOM IN
TEE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DAlE Ob
OCTOBER 1, 1983
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Sectzon g3-2(a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Denton is hereby amended so that the same shall hereafter read
as follows
(a) There zs hereby levied a tax upon the cost of occupancy
of any room or space furnished by any hotel where such cost
of occupancy ~s at the rate of two dollars ($2 00) or more
per day, such tax to be equal to s~x (6) percent of the
consideration paid by the occupant of such room to such
hotel
SECTION II
Th~s ordinance shall become effective from and after October
1, 1985
