AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV "TAXICABS" O~ CHAPTER 26 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ADDING A NAW
SECTION 26-52 1, EXEMPTING LIMOUSINES FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF
VEHICLE LETTERING AND TAXIMETERS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
PART I
That Article IV "Taxicabs" of Chapter 26 to the Code of
Ord~nanoes of the City of Denton, Texas, ls hereDy amended by
adding a new Section 26-52 1 to read as follows
Section 26-5~ 1 - LIMOUSINE EXEMPTION
Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 26-50 and
Section 26-52 of th~$ Article, ~t shall not be
mandatory that a motor vehicle operated as a limousine
service and charging a set tr~p fee or an hourly fee,
by advance reservation, to have the name of the owner
or trade name printed or affixed to the door or rear of
the vehicle or be required to have a tax~meter
installed ~n such vehicle, provided that all tr~ps or
hourly fees shall be flled at all times w~th the C~ty
Secretary of the C~ty of Denton
PART I I
That th~s ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
· ts passage and approval ~ ~
