BEING sIrUATED IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING
PART OF THE W DAVIS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 377, AND G MEYERS
SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 843, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE
SAME AS AGRICULrURAL "A" DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN

WHEREAS, the request for annexation was Introduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton,
Texas, on the petition of the Cxty of Denton, Texas, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on the 7th day of June, 1983 in the
Council Chambers for all znterested persons to state thexr views
and present evidence bearxng upon the annexation provided by
this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, an opportunzty was afforded, at a publxc hearing
held ior that purpose on the 7th day of June, 1983 upon the
property hereinafter described in this annexatzon ordxnance for
all ~nterested persons to state thexr views and present evidence
bearing upon the annexation provided by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, th~s ordinance has been published in full at least
one time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to xts effective date, and after the public hearings,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
ShCTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same ~s hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the
same ~s made hereby a part of said C~ty and the land and the
present and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all
the rights and pr~wleges of other citizens of said C~ty and

effect or which may hereafter be enacted and the property
s~tuated there~n shall be subject to and shall bear ~ts prorata

s~tuated ~n the County of Denton, State of Texas, and being part
of the W Davis Survey, Abstract No 377,and the G Meyers
Survey, Abstract No 843 and being more partzcularly described

BEGINNING at a poxnt ~n the present c~ty l~m~ts as established
by Ordinance No 69-40, Tract I, sa~d poxnt lying ~n east
boundary lzne of sa~d Davzs Survey, sa~d point also being an
~nner ell corner of a tract of land conveyed to Denton
Propertzes Joint Venture by deed recorded ~n Volume 1191, Page
521, sazd poxnt also being the northeast corner of a tract of
land conveyed to Malcolm M Long by deed recorded ~n Volume 389,
Page 389 of the Deed Records of Denton County, Texas,
THENCE south 89°28'15" west 2359 92 feet to a point for a
corner,
THENCE north 0005'54" west 600 48 feet to a point for a corner,

SECTION II
The above described property ~s hereby classified as
Agricultural "A" D~str~ct and shall so appear on the official
zoning map of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, which map ~s hereby
amended accordingly

PLAN,OF SERVICE FOR ANNEXED AREA, CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
WHEREAS, Article 970a as amended requzres that a plan of service
be adopted by the governing body of a c~ty prior to passage of an ordinance
annexing an area, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton is contemplatlnE annexation of an
area which zs hounded as shown on a map of the proposed annexation
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS
Section I Pursuant to the provisions of Artzcle 970a as
amended, Texas Code Annotated, there ~s hereby adopted for the proposed
annexation area the following plan of servzce
I Baslc Service Plan
A Police
(1) Patrolling, radio responses to calls, and other
routine police services, using present personnel
and equipment, w~ll be provided on the effectzve
date of annexation,
(2) Traffic s~gnals, traffic slEns, street markzngs,
and other traffic control devices wall be ~nstalled
as the need therefore ~s establzshed by appropriate
study and traffic standards
B Fire
(1) Fire protection by the present personnel and equip-
ment of the fire fight~nE force, will be provided
on the effective date of annexation
C Water
(1) Water for domestic, commercial and industrial use
will be provided at c~ty rates, from ex~st~ng city
lines on the effective date of annexation, and
thereafter from new l~nes as extended ~n accordance
wzth article 13 08 of appendmx A of the code of the
City of Denton, Texas
D Sewer
(1) Properties zn the annexed areas wmll be connected
to sewer l~nes ~n accordance with article lB 08 of
appendix A of the code of the City of Denton, Texas
E Refuse Col]ect~on
(1) The same regular refuse collection service now pro-
vlded within the city will be extended to the
annexed area within one month after the effective
date of annexation

F Streets
(1) Emergency maintenance of streets (repair of hazardous
chuckholes, measures necessary for traffic flow, etc )
will begin on the effective date of annexatzon
(2) Routzne maintenance on the same bas~s as in the
present city, will beg~n in the annexed area on
the effective date of annexation
(3) Reconstruction and resurfaclng of streets, installa-
tion of storm drainage facilities, construction of
curbs and gutters, and other such major improvements,
as the need therefore is determined by the governlnE
body, will be accomplished under the established
policies of the city
G Inspection Services
(1) Any inspection services now provided by the city
(building, electrical, plumbing, gas, housinE,
sanitation, etc ) will begin in the annexation area
on the effective date of annexation
Planning and Zoning
(1) The Planning and Zoning jurisdiction of the city
will extend to the annexed area on the effective
date of annexation City planning w~ll thereafter
encompass the annexed area
I Street L~ght~ng
(1) Street lighting will be installed In the substan-
tially developed areas in accordance with the
established policies of the city
J Recreation
(1) Residents of the annexed area may use all exlstln~
recreational facilities, parks, etc , on the effec-
tive date of annexation The same standards and
policies now used in the present c~ty will be fol-
lowed in expanding the recreational program and
facilities in the enlarged city
K Electric D~str~butlon
(1) The city recommends the use of City of Denton for
electric power

(1) Street name signs where needed will be mnstalled
wmthmn approxmmately 0 months after the effective
date of annexation
II Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
The CIP of the City consists of a five year plan that is up-
dated yearly The Plan ms prmorltmzed by such polzcy gumde-
lmnes as
(1) Demand for servmces as compared to other areas
based partly on densmty of populatmon, magnmtude
of problems compared to other areas, establmshed
technical standards and professmonal studmes, and
natural or technical restramnts or opportunmtles
(2) Impact on the balanced growth polmcy of the cmty
(3) Impact on overall c~ty econommcs
The annexed area wmll be consmdered for CIP plannxng in the
upcoming CIP plan, which will be no longer than one year from
the date of annexatmon In thms new CIP plannmng year the
annexatmon area wmll be judged accordmngly to the same
established crmterma as all other areas of the cmty
