AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING NEW WATER AND SEWER TAPPING
FEES FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICE, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND
DhCLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
PART I
That Section 25-7, Article I, of Chapter 25 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, is hereby amended to
read as follows
"Section 25-7 WATER AND SEWER MAIN TAPPING CHARGES
Utilities department to mak. e all taps The utilities
department shall upon application and payment of the
required fees make all taps of water and sewer mains
required to extend service from the main to a point
immediately behind the curbline of the street and xt
shall be unlawful for any person other than an
employee of the city to tap any water or sewer main or
cut any street surface for the purpose of making such
a tap
Tapp~n~ and meter loop fees Any person, association
of persons, or corporation desiring a water or sewer
main tap or water meter loop shall pay to the
utilities department, ~n advance, the following fees

PART II
That tf any sectton, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word tn thts ordtnance, or appltcatton thereof
to any person or ctrcumstances ts held tnvaltd by any court of
competent jur~sdtctton, such holdtng shall not affect the
valtdtty of the rematntng porttons of thts ordtnance, and the
Ctty Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares
would have enacted such rema~ntng porttons desptte any such
tnval~dlty
PART III
That thts ordinance shall become effective on the '~y
of ~/~ , 1983, and the C~ty Secretary ts hereby
d~rec~ed t~cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be published
twice ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle, the otf~cxal newspaper of
the C~ty of Denton, Texas within ten (10) days of the date of
xts passage
