1983-060AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ABANDONMENT OF A UTILITY EASEMENT
WITHIN THE CITY OF DENTON AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
QUITCLAIM DEED CONVEYING ALL RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST OF THE
CITY IN SAID EASEMENT TO THE OWNER OF THE TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED
BY SAID EASEMENT, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, acting
pursuant to law, and upon the request and petition of the
grantee herein, deems ~t advisable to abandon and convey the
hereinafter described tract of land to grantee and is of the
opinion that said utility easement ~s not needed for public use,
and that same should be abandoned and qu~tclalmed to the
Unltarxan Unlversallst Fellowshlp, as hereinafter provided, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Clty of Denton is of the
opinion that the best interest and welfare of the public wlll be
served by abandoning and conveying the same to the Unitarian
Universallst Fellowship, for the consideration hereinafter more
fully set forth, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON
SECTION I
That the following descrlbed tract of land in the City of
Denton be and the same ~s hereby abandoned, vacated and closed
insofar as the right, title and easement of the public are
concerned
Ail that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being
s~tuated ~n the City and County of Denton, State of Texas, and
being more partlcularly described as follows
BEGINNING at a point in the south line of Cordell Street, same
being the northwest corner of an unnumbered lot, same being the
northwest corner of Block 14 of the Carroll Park Addition to the
City of Denton,
THENCE south wlth the west line of said lot a distance of 140
feet to a point for a corner,
THENCE east 10 feet to a point for a corner,
THENCE north 140 feet to a point ~n the south l~ne of Cordell
Street,
THENCE west 10 feet to the place of beginning
SECTION II
That the Mayor and Clty Secretary are hereby authorized to
execute and deliver that certain qu~tclalm deed attached hereto

described there~n to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
SECTION III
That port~on of the public utlllty easement here~n descrlbed
being vacated, abandoned, and closed is made subject to all
existing zoning regulations and deed restrictions, ~f any, and
subject to all ex~stlng easement r~ghts of others, ~f any,
whether apparent or not
SECTION IV
Th~s ordinance shall take effect and be ~n full force and
effect from and after the date of ~ts passage, and ~t ~s so
