AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER ZS, SECTION 25-60 OF THE CODh OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, tEXAS, PERTAINING TO WAThR
RATES AND CHARGES AND DECLARING AN hFFhCTIVE DATh
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That Chapter 2S, Section 25-60 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Denton, Texas xs hereby amended and shall hereafter
read as follows
ARTICLE IV WATER
Section 2S-60 Rate Schedule
The rates to be charged by the City of Denton for water
services are hereby established as follows
(a) Residential Users Inside of L~ty L~m~ts (W-1 Rate)
(1) Monthly Rate
Customer Charge $3 25 per 30 day billing per~od
W~nter Volume Charge (October-May)
Ail consumption $1 22 per 1,000 gallons
Summer Volume Charge (June-September)
0-20,000 gallons $1 22 per 1,000 gallons
Above 20,000 gallons $1 42 per 1,000 gallons
(2) M~nlmum Charge $5 00
Commercial Users $8 00
(3) Availability
Residential Service Applicable for stngle-
family residential use Where less than f~ve
{S) untts of a multtple dwelling are served by
a single water service line, the minimum
and the number of gallons in each category
shall be multiplied by the number of famtly or
housekeeping units
(4) Payment
Billing for service hereunder will be at the
net monthly rate, payment of which is due on
or before the due date shown on the
statement Sections 25-4 and 25-6 of th~s
Chapter will apply to serwce users hawng
overdue bills
(b) Commercial and Industrial (W-2)
(1) Monthly Rate
Customer Charge i~ 25 per 30 day billing period
Volume Charge 17 per 1,000 gallons
(2) M~nlmum Charge $8 00
{c) Sales for Resale (W-3)
Customer Charge $110 00 per 30 day billing perzod
Volume Charge $ 1 19 per 1,000 gallons
{d) Utility Operations
Customer Charge $7 25 per 30 day billing perzod
Volume Charge $1 2Z per 1,000 gallons
{e) Sales to City Accounts
Customer Charge $7 $0 per 30 day billing period
Volume Charge $1 22 per 1,000 gallons
(f) Sales to Steam Generating Plant
Volume Charge $0 45 per 1,000 gallons
(g) Fire Serwce (W-7)
(1) Rate and monthly charge Each commercial or
industrial establishment requiring a standby
fire service l~ne (unmetered) to serve
sprinklers or other private fire-fighting
equipment shall pay for this service each
month as follows
For each slx-inch f~re service line $ 8 25
For each eight-inch fire service line $11 00
(Z) Availability
Each f~re service line ~s not to be used
any purpose other than f~re fxghtxng
(h) Customers Outside City Limits
Except for ~-3 Rate Customers, customers outside
the city limits shall be charged the appropriate
rate schedule as listed above multiplied by one
hundred fxfteen (115%) percent
SECTION II
This ordxnance shall become effective on June 1, 1983
