AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN TH5 CITY OF DENTON ON
APRIL 2, 1983
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, HEREBY ORDAINS
S~CTION I
The C~ty Councll f~nds and declares that the April 2, 1983
regular munlc~pal election was duly ordered for the purpose of
electihg four counc~lpersons to Places 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the
Council, that proper notice of said elect~on was duly g~ven and
election officials appointed, that sa~d election was duly held
and the returns of the elect~on officials have been delivered
to the Council, all ~n accordance w~th the laws of the State of
Texas and the Charter and ordlnances of the City of Denton
SECTION II
Th~ official returns of the elect~on officials having been
opened, examined and canvassed, the Council hereby f~nds and
declares that 1,394 votes were cast at said elect~on, and that
the votes cast for each place on the Council were as follows

The Council f~nds and declares that each candidate listed
below received a ma3orlty of the votes cast for each place on

the Council and that each candidate listed below is hereby
declared to be elected to the City Council of the City of
Denton

PLACE 2 - Joe G Alford
PLACE 3 - Jim Rlddlesperger
PLACE 4 - Ray Stephens
and such candidates shall assume the duties of their office on
the date that they take the official oath of office
